Experience

Paul is the founder and principal of Remarkable IP, which he established in 2015, and is a registered New Zealand and Australian patent attorney.

With extensive experience preparing and filing patent, trade mark and design applications in New Zealand and Australia, Paul advises clients on complex infringement matters, regularly handles trade mark oppositions and revocations before IPONZ and IP Australia, and can assist with patent opposition proceedings.

Remarkable IP acts for local New Zealand and Australian businesses as well as working closely with patent and trade mark attorney firms across the globe, including but not limited to those in China, Malaysia, Vietnam, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe, handling New Zealand and Australian IP matters on their behalf.

Prior to founding Remarkable IP, Paul worked first as a trade mark examiner and then as a patent examiner at the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand, before joining a highly respected New Zealand intellectual property firm where he worked as a patent attorney across a wide variety of IP matters.

Outside of the office Paul can be found snowboarding at the Remarkables, Coronet Peak or Cardrona, following the Warriors, the Kings and the UFC, playing basketball, playing guitar and drums, or performing bass with his band the Doylees.
